VETERANS REITERATE CALL FOR ROMNEY TO RELEASE FULL TAXES

WASHINGTON, DC - Not satisfied with Mitt Romney's lack of complete disclosure on his taxes, the veterans of VoteVets.org, the largest progressive veterans organization in America, are reiterating their call for him to release his full tax records.  This week, 7000 Americans, including thousands of veterans and military families, signed a petition to Romney, calling on him to do just that.

"Why won't Mitt Romney release all of his taxes?  What's he hiding?" said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and  Chairman of VoteVets.org.  "Seven thousand Americans, including thousands of veterans and military families have signed our petition asking him to do one simple thing - show us how much or how little you contributed to America, at a time when our troops went to war and paid a higher tax rate than you when they came home.  Will he cut veterans benefits to pay to lower his taxes even more? Given Mitt Romney would like to lower taxes for him and other multi-millionaires like him, it's a fair question."

Soltz added, "Particularly disturbing are all of these off-shore accounts.  While it seems that he and his accountant decided to pay taxes on those in 2010, what about the years before this campaign?  While men and women were putting their lives on the line on the battlefield, and military members and retirees were paying a higher tax rate, was Mitt Romney trying to weasel his way out of paying taxes that care for those troops when they are in the field and come home?"

Founded in 2006,  and backed by over 100,000 members, the mission of VoteVets.org is to use public issue campaigns and direct outreach to lawmakers to ensure that troops abroad have what they need to complete their missions, and receive the care they deserve when they get home.  VoteVets.org also recognizes veterans as a vital part of the fabric of our country and will work to protect veterans' interests in their day-to-day lives.   VoteVets.org is committed to the destruction of terror networks around the world - with force when necessary - to protect America.  While non-partisan, the group is the largest progressive organization of veterans in America.

Yet more left-wing horseshit! (0.00 / 0)
Soltz and Smith, what a pair!  As the self-ingratiating bigwigs of a supposed "veterans" web site/blog, they serve anyone but veterans.  They serve themselves and their left-wing ideology with senseless political drivel that means nothing to us retirees, active duty people, and "veterans."

Tweedldee and Tweedledumb are again paranoid because M. Romney did not release even more tax returns.  His latest release showed no malfeasance, and all was in legal OKville.  Apparently these wingers simply want to expose that Romney is rich, just like Kerry and the Kennedys (as they were) and a thousand other politicians who haven't been picked on.  IMHO, this is also a misdirection from the horrid economic mess this current White House Occupant has imposed on us veterans.

I'd like to see the VoteVets PAC financial records going back to 2006.  If they're available, please advise.  If you don't wish to make them available, then STFU about anyone else's records.

What can I say? (4.00 / 1)
Here is to hoping that the Left goes down in flames, never to be a factor in American politics again (Figuratively of course. I think we can agree that we do not wish ill or harm to them).

The military is being cut, Iraq is still an issue, Libya is no sure thing, and the Arab Spring has unleashed Salafists, Wahhabis, and the Muslim Brotherhood thus far. Furthermore DC is basically throwing the towel in in Afghanistan IMHO (Peace with Honor anyone?).

But hey why talk about those issues when tax returns that show no signs of illegal activity are far more important?

I think the community as VoteVets.org is extremely significant. This community is a group to help ensure the rights of soldiers dedicated to the mission of the country. It includes all the soldiers at the present time. I always wish for this organization to grow and mature.

Let's talk finances, OK lefties?? (0.00 / 0)
From the NY Times -- http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01... -- comes some interesting info for veterans/retirees.  Looks like this administration is on a notional track to screw us after all with increased TriCare and TriCare For Life fees.  Plus other slashes and burns, as reported by The Times, while keeping unions, tort lawyers, enviros, and other PACS happy with continued political support.

While Tweedldee and Tweedledumb (see top article) are concerned about Romney's legal right to make and have money, will we hear anything from these wingers about how this administration is hurting, and will hurt, veterans with their increased costs and continued rising national debt?  Hell no.

And what about that VOTEVETS PAC financial disclosure thing I mentioned above?
