Hello Everyone:

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has alarmed the extreme right wing of the Republican Party's Neocon activist base by talking about "whether there needs to be a balance to right-wing talk on the radio dial:"

Sen. Stabenow wants hearings on radio 'accountability'; talks fairness doctrine

"This morning, radio host Bill Press brought up the recent closing of liberal station Obama 1260 when speaking with Michigan Sen. Debbie Stabenow, and talked about whether there needs to be a balance to right-wing talk on the radio dial..."

Mitch Dworkin :: Please call Sen. Debbie Stabenow at 202-224-4822 to encourage her Fairness Doctrine efforts!
Here is the audio link to listen to Sen. Stabenow's comments about this issue that she said to Bill Press:

Any serious talk by Democrats about a form of the Fairness Doctrine is what I call "Political Kryptonite" to the Republican Party's Neocon activist base because it is the one thing that they truly fear:

Limbaugh & Hannity react to Democrats trying to bring back the Fairness Doctrine

Submitted by Mitch Dworkin on January 18, 2007 - 2:51pm.

As a result of Sen. Stabenow's comments about the Fairness Doctrine, Sean Hannity has a call to action up on the home page of his website right now encouraging his listening base to "CALL NOW! Debbie Stabenow, (202) 224-4822" about this issue:

I think that if Sean Hannity is getting his people to call Sen. Stabenow to try and discourage her Fairness Doctrine efforts, then we should also have a call to action trying to encourage her efforts!

Sen. Stabenow is also being targeted by other extreme right wing websites along with Sean Hannity's:

Politico: Sen. Stabenow Wants Hearings On Radio 'Accountability'; Talks Fairness Doctrine

By Seton Motley (Bio | Archive)
February 5, 2009 - 13:45 ET

"Michael Calderone in today's Politico reports on the latest liberal politician -- Michigan Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow -- openly touting their intent to silence their talk radio opposition with a reinstitution of the Fairness Doctrine..."

I have credibly documented how powerful that Rush Limbaugh and extreme right wing talk radio are, how strong that their influence is over a lot of elected Republican officials in Congress, and how that Rush Limbaugh is probably the biggest obstacle in Obama's way right now to change Washington and to restore bipartisanship:

ANALYSIS: Obama and Democrats are being smart by attacking Rush Limbaugh now!

This issue of seriously dealing with Rush Limbaugh and his extreme right wing talk radio media empire has always been very important to Gen. Clark:

I am very proud of Sen. Debbie Stabenow for taking the Fairness Doctrine issue seriously and I hope that our many voices can counter those in the extreme right wing of the Republican Party's Neocon activist base who are attacking her right now!

Hey Mitch! (0.00 / 0)
First, I don't know why a political partisan, non-vet related rant like this is even here. (Note to self: free speech)   But anyway, since you wanna play ball, let's go.

I don't listen to Limpballs, Hannity, or whomever; however, I feel strongly that you cannot dictate free speech issues based on personal ideology.  Simply speaking, if RL is beating the drums loudly and Americans are listening to the stations, then that's free market capitalism.  If you try to legislate against that, or even fund (from taxpayers) an alternative market, then that smells of fascism.  You (and I) may not agree with their message, but to suggest, whine, drool, and prattle that this is somehow "unfair" is bullshit.

There are people who burn the American flag, who openly curse elected officials, parading homosexuals dressed up as nuns, and tons of Internet sites that spew right and left wing crap consistently.  These are allowed: think First Amendment.

But if YOU want to change all that, legislate only one particular political ideology, and stifle those currently in the talk-show business who are succeeding, then you need to look at the colors of YOUR virtual nation, comrade.

Next time, be a trooper and write your own comments instead of relying on links to speak for you.
