On the heels of an earlier national ad buy, VoteVets.org is increasing their buy for clean energy television ads by targeting it to states with key Senators in the clean energy debate on Capitol Hill. Here is the ad VoteVets will be running in Missouri:

Mike Evans; Arnold, Missouri: I've seen first-hand how America's dependence on foreign oil threatens our national security.

Philip Gilfus; Fayetteville, North Carolina:  Billions in oil profits finding their way....

Terron Sims, Jr.; Arlington, Virginia: ... to the terrorists we're fighting against.

Jackie Rodgers, Jr.; Paris, Missouri:  That's why Washington needs to pass Clean Energy legislation.  It will create good jobs...

"1.7 million new American jobs" appears on the screen, above footage of "green energy" workers

"Reduce Carbon Pollution" appears on the screen, above a smoke stack

Mike Evans: It will cut oil imports five million barrels a day...

Terron Sims, Jr.:  Stop sending our dollars overseas to be used against us.

Mike Evans:  Call Senators McCaskill and Bond. We need heroes who will stand up to big oil.

Douglas  Peters: It's not just a question of American Energy....

Terron Sims, Jr.:  ....It's a question of American Power.

The buy also includes ads for Indiana and West Virginia. The Missouri ad will run 300 times this week, with the other ads running 150 times each. Discussing the ads, Iraq War Veteran and VoteVets.org chairman Jon Soltz said:

"This is part of a growing consensus from veterans and security experts from the left and right that we absolutely have to break our dependence on foreign oil - particularly Middle East oil. Passage of legislation is too important for us to stay silent.  Essentially funding both sides of the wars we're fighting is unsustainable and dangerous. We're going to do whatever it takes to pass this bill and help protect our troops, and America."

This is just another phase in the fight for clean energy, as we look ahead to moving the bill through the Senate and on to the Presidents desk.  America must transition to clean energy, so that unfriendly foreign oil exporters can lose their influence in America's national security.
