VA To Survey Veteran Households

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki announced the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has launched a national survey of Veterans, active duty service members, activated National Guard and reserve members, and family members and survivors to learn if they are aware of VA services.

"By hearing directly from Veterans and their family members, we gain valuable information to help us serve them better.  We hope those who receive the survey will respond to it," Secretary Shinseki said...>>>>>

For The College Football Crowd (0.00 / 0)
'taking a play off'

All season, Florida State's offensive line has made a point to hold its water when defenders come across the line a little early, for reasons I don't quite understand and with occasionally comic results -- against North Carolina, there was more than one case of the entire front five remaining in its statue-like position well after officials blew the whistle on an offsides Tar Heel. The "freeze" is obviously a technique the 'Noles teach to ensure that the flag goes the other way...>>>>>

All the college football crowd needs to know (4.00 / 1)
is that Bama will beat Florida this weekend and go on to win the national title.

Yea Alabama! Drown 'em Tide!
Every Bama man's behind you-- hit your stride!
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
send them Yellow Jackets to a watery grave!
And if a man starts to weaken,
that's his shame,
for Bama's pluck and grit have writ her name in crimson flame!
FIGHT ON! FIGHT ON! FIGHT ON, MEN!
Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then!
Roll on to victory-- hit your stride!
You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide!
ROLL TIDE, ROLL TIDE!

Rammer Jammer, yellowhammer, give 'em hell ALABAMA!

Can hardly wait for the Texas -- Bama game, RS (if it comes to that).  The Tide will certainly flow...RED, as Texas mops up the field!  :-))

Sorry (0.00 / 0)
Is there anything we agree on Redding? Texas hasn't played a defense the caliber of Alabama's all season and has still struggled at times.  Also, the Longhorn defense will be unable to suppress a Crimson Tide offense that has Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Roy Upchurch, Julio Jones, Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks. Sorry, but it's not going to happen.

I'm on twitter.

About That... (0.00 / 0)
If, that's "if" Bama survives the Gators today, then we'll "discuss" this a bit more.  Actually, I'm forAlabama on this particular game.  Go figure.  And go Longhorns!

And...

Is there anything we agree on Redding?

Probably a lot more than you'd suspect!

Good for the Tide, but considering the way the Longhorns played yesterday I may have to reconsider the "...mop up the field" remark.  Yikes!

"Trooper" (0.00 / 0)
Murphy OShea, an Iraq Veteran, has a hard time re-adjusting to society upon his return from a long tour. His world crumbles when he discovers his father, Bill, a Vietnam Veteran, is dying. Trooper is a story of a father and son, two veterans from two very different Wars, helping each other to get through each day, and heal the wounds of War.

Trailer

"Finally, a film producer that gets it right! Trooper may serve well to educate an unaware public about the epidemic level of emotional trauma that today's young warriors are living with. It is a dark journey and this film captures its pain-and also gives us a glimmer of hope." Rev. Bill McDonald Founder The Military Writer's Society of America.
