Limbaugh Hospitalized in Serious Condition

by: Richard Allen Smith

Wed Dec 30, 2009 at 22:50:18 PM EST

From Politico.

Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.

While I can't think of a single thing Rush and I could ever agree on, no one deserves to be met with tragedy especially during the holiday season. I hope Rush has a speedy recovery and wish his family the best. As such, if you don't have anything nice to say, keep your vitriol out of the comments section of this thread.

Preview: VA Benefits 60min this Sunday

From Veterans for Common Sense:

Confirmed: CBS News "60 Minutes" will broadcast the first-ever investigation into the endless delays and red tape veterans face obtaining disability benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In 2002, before former President George W. Bush started his ill-fated Iraq War, Veterans for Common Sense warned that VA was unprepared to meet the needs of additional veterans when VA was already overloaded with patients and claims.

What happened at the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) - the VA agency that processes disability claims - was beyond our worst nightmare.  And "60 Minutes" has the story.

Two wars and a recession have significantly increased the claims handled by the U.S. Dept. of Veteran's Affairs, slowing the large bureaucracy and frustrating many veterans. Byron Pitts reports.

"it's not my country it's the VA!"

Sorry to disagree but most of the problems the VA and even Military Care have, and most of our agencies, are caused directly by this country and it's unwillingness to properly fund the needs while having no problem questioning the ever growing Defense Budgets nor over charges by Defense Contractors! Not properly funded it ends up costing more to correct what should already be. Just like us returning from 'Nam after Korea the same problems and more are showing up with these two occupations and the quickly expanded needs of the Veterans of. Nobody back when and especially now mentioned anything about the Country Sacrificing and Funding what was to come. The Walter Reed, military care, fiasco was one of many that showed the lack of concern. When asked why it was happening response was "Well it's closing soon so we didn't want to waste the money upgrading the needs!" Even though they knew that's where the returning soldiers were going to!!

It's more then Care, the returning Veterans now are seeing many problems with funding as to the New GI Bill, if the VA agency was up to this centuries technology, which Shinseki seems to not only recognize but is trying to upgrade to, these types of record keeping problems wouldn't exist, but the People and their Reps refuse to properly fund which if they did would cost less to operate, i.e. Tax Savings then Less need to constantly fix what's missing, quickly!

Oh and As To rush........... (4.00 / 1)
I have no feelings for him one way or the other for many reasons but there is One Really Important One as to what many of us still do and have done for decades, he's no friend to those who serve nor veterans, never using his created bully pulpit to fight for the needs of, it's understandable to us the why he's nothing but a blowhard using false feeling words as he wraps himself in his false flag and empty idea of patriotism to cover his 'chickenhawk' butt. He preaches his idea of conservative ideology and condemns others who he feels aren't as big and bad as his sorry cyst ass, a part of the laughing 'purple heart bandage' crowd and never even apologizing for that. Nope not an ounce of feeling one way or the other!!!

If he survives healthy enough to come back on air, he's a grifter, he comes back and his audience increases thus his wealth from the ad revenue as he charges more for that, He Doesn't Give A Crap about The Country, and he certainly isn't a conservative, He's A Con Artist That's Developed A Cult Following of Idiots, and he smiles all the way to the bank!!

Re: Oh and As To rush / I completely agree with you! (0.00 / 0)
Rush Limbaugh is one of the most powerful and dangerous people in the country today who is definitely affecting major legislation.  Limbaugh is so powerful that even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's aides report to him to let him know what Sen. McConnell (R-KY) is doing to Obstruct Obama's agenda which I have credibly documented on Gen. Wes Clark's blog:

http://securingamerica.com/ccn...

Mitch McConnell's aides called Rush Limbaugh "to explain their tactics" to him!

Submitted by Mitch Dworkin on December 16, 2009 - 5:08am.

Rush Limbaugh is also one of the biggest reasons why it is so hard for Congress to pass good legislation.  Most elected Republicans in Congress truly fear Limbaugh because he can order his activist base of many millions of people to primary any Republican candidate who crosses him and they very quickly apologize to Limbaugh every time that he calls them out!

To prove this point, Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) dared to criticize Rush Limbaugh in this Politico article back on 1/27/09:

House GOP member to Rush: Back off

By JONATHAN MARTIN | 1/27/09 4:13 PM EST
Updated: 1/27/09 7:32 PM EST

"Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga., did not take kindly to this assessment in an interview with Politico Tuesday.

"I think that our leadership, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, are taking the right approach," Gingrey said. "I mean, it's easy if you're Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or even sometimes Newt Gingrich to stand back and throw bricks. You don't have to try to do what's best for your people and your party. You know you're just on these talk shows and you're living well and plus you stir up a bit of controversy and gin the base and that sort of that thing..."

It did not take very long for Rep. Gingrey to call into Rush Limbaugh's radio program and apologize to him.  Just listen to Rep. Gingrey's call to Rush Limbaugh on his show where he begged and pleaded for Rush to forgive him and where he told Limbaugh everything that he wanted to hear:

Rep. Phil Gingrey is definitely NOT alone.  He is one of MANY elected Republicans who fear Rush Limbaugh and who have apologized to him when they said something that Limbaugh did not like:

Rush Limbaugh's Lack of a Heart for Those that Don't Get to 'Rest Comfortably'

Rush Limbaugh's radio program says the conservative talk show host is resting comfortably at a Honolulu hospital where he was taken with chest pains....Source: Breitbart/Ap

The news on Rush Limbaugh, right wing Neocon radio talk show host, is that he may have had a heart attack but he is resting comfortably.

Rush gets to rest comfortably knowing that his millions of dollars has likely bought him adequate healthcare. Or maybe his healthcare is provided by the syndicaiton firm that he works for and he doesn't have to spend too much of his fabulous fortune for adequate care....>>>>>

Wow (0.00 / 0)
the comments section here is proving that the Far Left is just like school in the summer. NO CLASS.

I'm not a fan of Limbaugh. At the same end, I wasn't a fan of Ted Kennedy. In fact, I really wasn't a fan of Ted Kennedy. That said, I did not engage in political opportunism when he was rushed to the hospital, nor did I wish him ill will.

This seems very out of place here (4.00 / 1)
Especially given that Limbaugh routinely calls the problem of homeless veterans a "myth". A lot of fat, rich, drug abusers have heart attacks. I'm not sure why we should spend any time discussing this one.

Yet, here you are (0.00 / 0)
I expected this from the intellectually-stunted and functionally illiterate Starowicz. Mr Smith gains a bit of my respect.

Rush Limbaugh has unfairly attacked Brandon Friedman of VoteVets.org:

Jon Soltz has been unfairly attacked by many of Rush Limbaugh's followers:

Brandon Friedman has publicly mentioned Rush Limbaugh's "kind of language that disparages veterans:"

BRANDON FRIEDMAN, VICE PRESIDENT, VOTEVETS.ORG: "I think it does, Keith. What you have-you had Rush Limbaugh at the top and you have people above him like the RNC. They push this kind of language that disparages veterans. And the problem with it is it's very influential. People in middle America hear this stuff and they repeat it..."

John Soltz has fairly attacked Rush Limbaugh and he has also challenged Limbaugh to debate on Hardball back in 2007:

So, I mean, this guy is a draft dodger.  We need to have this debate, so let's have it..."

Gen. Wes Clark tried as hard as he could to get Rush Limbaugh to "invite Jon Soltz onto his radio show" which I very actively supported:

Phony Soldier?

Submitted by Wes Clark on September 28, 2007 - 11:11am.

"According to Rush Limbaugh, Jon Soltz, an Iraq war veteran, is a phony soldier...

Take action now. Email Rush Limbaugh and urge him to invite Jon Soltz onto his radio show!"

I completely agree that "This seems very out of place here" because of how dangerous that Rush Limbaugh is, because of all the damage that he has tried to inflict on VoteVets.org, and because of all the terrible things which he is responsible for!

This also "seems very out of place here" in my opinion because it puts people like me in a very awkward position where I cannot say what I really think because it would be "the politically incorrect thing to do" and I would NEVER lie about how I really feel about Limbaugh after all of the terrible things that he has done and when he will be VERY dangerous if he gets behind his radio microphone again!

If anyone wants to see more credible documentation about how dangerous that Rush Limbaugh is and of the MANY terrible things which he has done to so many people, then please let me know and I will be glad to provide it!

Yeah, I guess (0.00 / 0)
If you don't think Jon Soltz deserves to be pilloried for what happened at that Yearly Kos, I can see how you might think all of the attacks on Friedman and Soltz were unwarranted.

When you hang your butt out, expect it to be slapped.

As far as Rush goes, I guess kicking a man when he's in a hospital bed doesn't quite equate to all of the links you provided - at least among the grown ups I know.

Re: "Yeah, I guess If you don't think Jon Soltz deserves to be pilloried" (4.00 / 1)
What I did was explain why I agreed with the title of Snead's comment that "This (Rush Limbaugh) seems very out of place here" because I definitely believe that it is!

Rush Limbaugh is one of the most dangerous enemies of VoteVets.org and everything that it stands for!

Rush Limbaugh is also VERY dangerous and he is so politically powerful that he really is affecting major legislation which matters to VoteVets.org in a negative manner because nearly every elected Republican in Congress truly fears him (including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell) because they know that Limbaugh can tell his activist base of many millions of people to primary them the next time that they are on the ballot.  My comment above credibly documents that this is true:

http://www.vetvoice.com/showCo...

As far as Rush Limbaugh being "in a hospital bed" is concerned, here are some links that I think do apply.  Limbaugh does NOT believe that health care is a right which all people are entitled to and he is affecting major legislation on health care right now when the aides of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) are literally calling Limbaugh to explain to him what McConnell is doing to obstruct health care reform legislation:

http://securingamerica.com/ccn...

Every member of Congress should be forced to vote on if "health care is a right"

Mitch McConnell's aides called Rush Limbaugh "to explain their tactics" to him!

Submitted by Mitch Dworkin on December 16, 2009 - 5:08am.

How many truly sick people (including veterans) are either NOT in a hospital bed right now like how Limbaugh is because they cannot afford it or are in a hospital bed and are not getting the quality of health care that they really need like how Limbaugh is because they cannot afford it?

Rush Limbaugh having so much political power where so many elected Republicans in Congress truly fear him is one of the biggest reasons why so many people who need health care right now are NOT getting it when they should get it!

Please read what Rush Limbaugh believes about health care and tell me how much sympathy that you have for him:

http://securingamerica.com/ccn...

Every member of Congress should be forced to vote on if "health care is a right"

Submitted by Mitch Dworkin on September 23, 2009 - 1:05am.

This is the wrong place to be showing ANY sympathy to Rush Limbaugh in my opinion.  I wonder how many truly sick people (including veterans) are not getting the quality of health care that they need right now because of Limbaugh and all of the political power that he is using to try and obstruct health care reform now?
